Texts and fax
Your numbers can text and receive faxes as well as call. Texting is regulated far more tightly than calling, so it unlocks per workspace rather than being on by default.
Unlocking messaging
Carriers tie text deliverability and liability to a registered brand, which means your legal entity has to be registered before you can send. An admin applies from Settings, we register the brand and campaign with the carrier, and messaging switches on for the workspace. It takes a few days and it is not something we can skip. SMS requires 10DLC registration. We register you for a fixed fee.
Consent is separate from DNC
Somebody who asked not to be called has not necessarily refused a text, and someone who opted out of texts may still be fine on the phone. The two lists are kept apart. A text opt-out blocks messages outright and does not touch the dialer.
Where your workspace has registration enforcement on, a record of consent is required before a number can be messaged at all, and that record is kept because carriers can ask for it and will not keep it for you.
Fax
Still the only accepted channel in several industries, healthcare above all. Outbound and inbound both work, documents are stored privately, and an inbound fax is matched to a company by the number it came from so it lands on that account's timeline.
