Calling
Leads and campaigns
A campaign is a motion: a set of companies, the reps working them, and the plan for how they get chased. A company can be in more than one.
Three ways leads arrive
Montana finds them. Describe the business type and the place, and Montana returns real companies with real phone numbers, already shaped into leads. This is what runs during signup and it is available any time from Leads, then Find leads. It is charged per search, in cents.
You import them. CSV or XLSX. You map your columns to ours once and the import remembers the shape. Rows that fail validation are reported back rather than silently dropped.
They come in on their own. An inbound call from an unknown number creates the company so the conversation has somewhere to live.
Companies, contacts and accounts
The company is the unit. Contacts are people at that company, and a company can have several. Calls, emails, notes, tasks and deals all hang off the company, which is why the account page shows one continuous history rather than a per-campaign fragment.
Each account has its own page, reachable directly, so you can send someone a link to a customer rather than a link to a campaign that happens to contain them.
Duplicates
Imports match on phone number first and domain second. A company that already exists is updated rather than duplicated, and it is added to the campaign you are importing into, so the same list loaded twice does not double your queue.
