Building products and flooring · Contractors, designers and retailers

Outbound for building products and flooring,
run by Montana.

Building products are sold project by project. Montana finds the flooring stores, contractors and designers in the areas you ship to, preps each call around the jobs they are bidding and times the follow-up to the season, so your reps reach a contractor before the materials are spec'd.

Free. No signup. About a minute. He reads your site and shows who he'd call.

Who your reps call

Three kinds of buyer, each with a different reason to switch. Flooring and tile retailers and kitchen and bath showrooms want lines their customers ask for and margins that hold. General contractors, remodelers and flooring installers want product in stock when the crew is ready. Interior designers and architects spec the product and send the client to whoever carries it.

Nearly all of them are listed on Google Maps under categories such as flooring store, tile contractor, general contractor, kitchen remodeler and interior designer. Give Montana the same business type and a city or region and he returns companies with phone numbers. Builder association member lists can be imported as CSV or XLSX.

Talking about the job

Ask about the work in front of them. "What are you bidding for spring?" or "Are your customers asking for luxury vinyl or still mostly tile?" A contractor between job sites gives you two minutes if the question is about their jobs.

What comes back:

  • "We buy from our distributor." Ask what they do when that distributor is out of stock mid-job.
  • "Send me samples." Yes, then book a time to walk through them at the showroom or on site.
  • "What's your price per square foot?" Give it for the product they named and ask how big the next project is.

The next step worth booking is a sample drop, a showroom visit or a quote on a live project with a bid date.

What Montana does for a building products team

1

He reads your lines

Montana reads your website to see which products you sell and whether they suit retailers, contractors or designers. Then he drafts a first campaign for you to correct.

2

He keeps the project on the account

The job address, the bid date, the brand they install today: whatever the contractor tells you, Montana proposes as an update to the account after the call, along with the next task and a follow-up email. Nothing changes until the rep taps Accept, and every action has an Undo.

3

He books the callback around the job

"Call me after we close out this job in two weeks" becomes a booked callback in the contractor's time zone, and the lead stays out of the queue until that date.

4

He shows you when contractors pick up

Connect rates are broken down by hour of the day, per campaign and per rep, so you can see whether early morning or late afternoon reaches your contractors and move calling hours to match.

Timing that follows the season

Contractors order materials weeks before the job, and remodel work bunches up around the building season where you sell. A useful cadence is a call, a sample-offer email the next day, a second call three days later and a task for the rep to drop samples. Then loop the last step every thirty days so each account hears from you before the next round of bids.

Every qualifying call is transcribed and scored, and objections are counted across calls, so you can see whether price per square foot or an existing distributor is costing you more accounts this month.

Frequently asked

Will contractors get annoyed by repeat calls?

A lead that doesn't answer waits four hours by default before it comes up again, and not interested ends the chase. A contractor who asks not to be called goes on the workspace do-not-call list for good.

Can we load our existing dealer list?

Yes. Import CSV or XLSX and map the columns once. Dealers you already have are matched by phone number and domain and updated in place.

Can reps keep track of sample drops?

Make the sample drop a task step in the cadence, or let Montana propose the task after the call with a due date. It sits on the account next to the calls.

Does Montana call contractors for us?

No. Your reps make the calls, one line at a time. Montana does the research before each one and the account updates after it.
